2020 Honda CR-V MPG Ratings
The Honda CR-V combines a 190 hp, 179 lb-ft of torque 1.5L engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to achieve:
- Up to an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway with FWD models*
- Up to an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with AWD models*
As summed up by Edmunds.com: “no other small SUV offers a better overall combination of utility, fuel efficiency, comfort, and performance.”
Honda CR-V Hybrid
The Honda CR-V Hybrid will use the same setup currently utilized by the Honda Accord Hybrid:
- 2.0L 16-Valve DOHC Atkinson Cycle Engine
- Electric Motors
- Hybrid Battery Pack
Expect up to 212 hp combined and a 50% increase in EPA city fuel economy ratings from the standard CR-V. Despite being such a fuel efficient SUV, it should also maintain strong off-road performance thanks to an available AWD system.
This marks the sixth time Honda has been awarded by Green Car Journal, with previous winners including:
- Honda Insight
- Honda Civic Natural Gas
- Honda Accord
- Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid
- Honda Clarity Electric
- Honda Clarity Fuel Cell
- Honda HR-V
Honda has also been recognized by the U.S. EPA for having the highest fleet-average fuel economy of any automaker. They’ll be taking things further by aiming to cut global CO2 emissions in half by 2050 (compared to 2000 levels) by electrifying two-thirds of global automobile sales by 2030.
